It’s summer, and the living is easy. Dining alfresco, leisurely afternoon walks, a fine arts fair and scrumptious desserts … I can’t think of a more enjoyable way to spend a summer afternoon. Everybody loves dessert – sample some of your favorite confections in downtown Libertyville on Saturday, August 5, from 12:00 pm. – 3:00 p.m. during MainStreet Libertyville’s Annual Dessert Walk.

Participating is easy. Buy a ticket, bring your craving for sweet creations and receive one dessert tasting at each designated stop. Check off all the stops … and you will sure to be satiated, but in only the most delightful way! And a bonus – this event is held in conjunction with the Annual Festival of the Arts held in Cook Park by the David Adler Music & Arts Center. Taste a dessert. Enjoy. Stroll, mingle and repeat.

The Dessert Walk takes place within the three-block radius of beautiful, historic downtown Libertyville, so wear your walking shoes. Merchants and restaurants alike will be handing out carefully chosen confections, and there will be a dessert tent located in Cook Park, too. And be sure to visit Libertyville’s fabulous shops while you are in town.

Tickets can be purchased online, or at the following locations and events:

  • MainStreet Libertyville office (158 E. Cook Street);
  • Lunch in the Park (Cook Park) at the MainStreet tent, Friday, August 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.;
  • First Friday, August 4, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Townee Square Restaurant (508 N. Milwaukee Ave. Libertyville);

MainStreet tent in front of Cook Mansion (413 N. Milwaukee Ave.) starting at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 5th (the day of the event).

Bring the family, phone a friend or gather a group and enjoy the afternoon with fine art and a sweet course (or several). Parking is plentiful (and free) in downtown Libertyville. Life really doesn’t get any sweeter than this.
