In 1992 Michael Book the original owner of Bagels By the Book brought a family recipe of bagels to Libertyville, where we are still making the same great bagels 30+ years later. Baked fresh every day, we take pride in our scratch-made bagel sandwiches and fresh spreads.
Bagels by the Book is a local favorite built on tradition, community, and really good bagels. What started as a go-to weekend spot has grown into a place where families return again and again and are now bringing the next generation with them. Known for its warm, welcoming staff and comfortable, homey vibe, it’s a place where people feel like regulars from the moment they walk in. Rooted in quality and consistency, Bagels by the Book continues to serve up great food and a strong sense of community every day, and was proudly recognized with the 2024 Libertyville Business of Excellence Award.
