The Town & Country Garden Club of Libertyville was established in 1952 and is a member of the National Garden Clubs Inc. and the Garden Clubs of Illinois It is an active club with approximately 35 members who meet monthly and host speakers to learn about gardening and conduct service projects in the community. The club’s motto is to Nurture Nature.
The club has an annual Garden Walk which supports their plantings at Cook Mansion, Cook Memorial Public Library, the Libertyville Civic Center, David Adler Cultural Center, Libertyville Train Station, the Blue Star Memorial Day Marker in Cook Park and the Centennial Bell.
The club makes monetary donations to support the Libertyville Township Food Pantry and other local charities, and hosts a planting event for senior citizens at the Libertyville Civic Center. They also support the Stephanie H. Green Memorial Scholarship, providing funds to a College of Lake County student pursuing a degree in Horticulture/Agriculture concentrating in plant science.
