Event Category: Walk/Tour
- Date:September 19, 2020, 10:00 am-3:00 pmEvent Description:
This year, on September 19th from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., we’re offering the first ever audio enhanced, walking tour of our charming town! We have worked closely with the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society to bring you a walking tour that takes you back in time. The tour begins in Cook Park and winds through the historic Heritage District, where you will learn about the very first settlers of our town. Do you know where the pharmacist lived? Can you find the home of the town’s first blacksmith or the owner of the meat market? These homes are still here today!
Our audio tour will continue through downtown and explore the history of the buildings that line Milwaukee Avenue. You’ll not only see where the pharmacist lived, but also where he worked. You will learn what buildings survived the Libertyville fire and how it all connects to Ansel B. Cook.
This year’s tour will be available on audio, so bring your smartphone (and headphones or earbuds, too) to use with our printed brochure and map.
Tours can be purchased online at mainstreetlibertyville.org for $20 per person. Or on the day of the event in the park for $25 per person.
ONLINE TICKET SALES WILL BE TURNED OFF ON FRIDAY AT 3PMEvent Sponsors :
